How does Aqualyx therapy work?

As a non-surgical alternative to liposuction, Aqualyx works by injecting a solution of deoxycholic acid which is a substance that is naturally found in the body where its function is to emulsify fat from our diet. Aqualyx is directly injected, by special needles, into the stubborn fat deposits where the active substance ruptures the membrane of the fat cell releasing its contents which leaves the body through the lymphatic system.

Does Aqualyx therapy hurt?

Patients describe the treatment as painless. You may experience mild discomfort but largely the treatment is painless.

What areas can be treated?

Any area of the body can be treated with Aqualyx but the most popular areas are double chin, lower abdomen, love handles and outer thighs.

How many treatments will I need?

Most people see a difference after the first treatment but Dr Maryam recommends between 2-6, sessions depending on the area, for best results.

Can anyone have this treatment?

Yes, but generally this treatment is not suitable for those classed as clinically overweight and those aged under 18 or over 60. A bespoke treatment plan will be advised for your individual needs at your consultation stage.
